Social media marketing is a technique of using free user generated web sites such as MySpace and Facebook to attract targeted traffic, i.e. potential customers, who are interested in what you have to say and what you have to sell.
It is easy for new people to get overwhelmed and not know where to start so there are a few important factors to bear in mind.
Firstly, social networking was never intended to be sales platforms; therefore, sites like MySpace and You Tube do not in themselves deliver sales. In fact quite the opposite as more and more users get sick and tired of strangers spamming them.

There is enough educated social media consumers now for that old chestnut to be ineffective and whats left is the bottom end of the feeding chain who will undoubtedly opt in all day long but have neither money nor skills to make your business profitable.
Today you need to start your internet business with a professional web system that brands you as an expert. When you drive traffic to it you want people to instantly see the level at which you are operating so that your visitors will keep coming back and you will convert a far higher proportion of them not paying customers with an excellent lifetime value relationship with you and your business.
