I have had several sales jobs and want to do marketing outside of sales. I have recently relocated to the Northeast, all Marketing posting want experience in analysis. All of my sales experience leads me to another sales position and I am tired of straight sales. Is there a better way to get into a marketing position with a bigger firm?
If you have done any market research/analysis as part of your sales roles, then definitely emphasize that. Also, understanding the customer (which you do in sales) is usually a key requirement in a marketing job, so highlight that as well.
I do resume/cover letter coaching part time (I work full time as a Senior HR specialist). If you'd like more assistance in positioning your resume, feel free to contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org. My rates are competitive. Good luck!
